Chapter 10: Pocketbooks and NYC

Story Time.
"Auntie, her pocketbook clutched against her hip..." - Page 86=
My mom used to work in NYC, and she took the subway. She would always hold her purse really tightly against herself. One time, this guy cuts the strap of her bag, in an attempt to rob her, but instead of coming back with her bag, he got the strap of her purse, because she held it so tightly.

  2. yikes that could be scary
she could have been hurt... good thing she wasn't!
that is kind of funny, though, that he was trying to get one thing, but got the purse strap instead.

  4. Interesting connection… However why do you think in the book she’d be clutching her purse? Do you think the immigration officers would steal it, or was it out of fear? Add some opinion to your blog post. I bet you have a lot more to say.
